The Latest News:
(Updated 5/11/00)
The training cost for the Summer of 2000 session has been
set at $1,300.00 per instructor for each Local Academy. Due to the number
of schools that we are bringing on board this summer, we are limiting Local
Academies to 2 instructors total for the entire (2 year) training
process.
Please see the Summer of 2000 Local Academy Training Schedule
for more information on dates/times for training. Additional details may

- Local Academies,
-
- Just a few reminders as we begin our summer break:
-
- **********
- I just checked the registration database at Cisco, and there are still
a few Local Academy instructors that need to register online for the upcoming
training course at High Tech. Please login to the Network Academies site
<http://cisco.netacad.net/>
, and head over to "Account Maintenance". Cisco needs you to
use their registration system to track your progress through the instructor
certification process.
-
- Please note that training dates that are less than 14 days away will
NOT appear as an option. In other words, instructors cannot register for
a training that is less than 14 days away, they must register for these
classes before the 14 day cut-off period. All Local Academies should register
for semester 1 and 2 before the upcoming cut-off date of Sunday July 4th,
1999.
-
- If you are unable to register by the 4th of July on the Cisco system,
please email me.
-
- You will need to take the online pretest before the registration can
proceed on Cisco's registration servers. Keep in mind that the pretest
scores you receive will not affect your final grade, or your ability to
register in any way. They are just used for data collection at Cisco Systems.
-
- When you initially register, the "Pedagogy exam" and semester
one pre-final (pretest) will need to be completed before registration for
semester one can be completed. Then, you will need to take just the semester
2 pre-final (pretest) prior to registering for the semester 2 class. The
Pedagogy exam is a one-time exam to test knowledge related to instructional
methods and best practices, and the Semester Pre-Finals are the final exams
for the semester training for which you are going to register to receive
training.
-
- **********
- Please have all instructors that are coming for training at High Tech
email me confirming their attendance, so I can put together a roster.
-
- **********
- If your school has not done so already, please contact our area Cisco
Account Manager, Mike Casey to arrange for the purchase of your Networking
Academy equipment. The Regional Academy at High Tech is not involved in
the purchase or distribution of the Local Academy equipment. However, feel
free to bring any of your Cisco routers with to the training at High Tech,
and I'll be happy to get them set up with you.
-
- For information on how to purchase your "Local Academy hardware
package" (routers, switches, etc), please contact Mike Casey at the
