PowerSchool TechNote:

PowerSchool Report Recipe: Grade Verification "Class Rosters (PDF)" [2012-2013 Codes]

At the end of every marking period, it is recommended that guidance or the principal prints out Grade Verification reports for each faculty member. Please ask faculty to verify printed grades with those displayed in their PowerTeacher Gradebook, and sign to verify that data is accurate. If any data is missing, in the wrong column, or incorrect, faculty should make any changes in their PowerTeacher Gradebook data.

Please refer to directions below for the "Report Recipe" used generate Grade Verification reports (including signature line) for your faculty.

(MAST specific Instructions below. If you are from AAHS, BTHS, CHS, HTHS or CHS-Shared Time, do not continue reading, please refer to your specific instructions for this report, located here.)

Login to PowerSchool.
Select the correct/current Marking Period in the Term Pull-Down at the top of your PowerSchool screen (for example: 12-13 Marking Period 1).
This will allow you to filter and only output verification reports for courses that meet during the current marking period (such as Marking Period 1 and Semester 1 classes).

Open up this PDF reference guide (Class_Rosters_(PDF)_Grade_Verification.pdf)
You'll be setting up your Class Rosters (PDF) report to the exact same variables as in this PDF.
On the PowerSchool start page, click on Reports, then scroll to the bottom and choose Class Rosters (PDF) report.
Note: This same report tool called Class Rosters (PDF) is also used to generate teacher rosters, so having the "Report Recipe" for that type of job, as well as the "Report Recipe" for Grade Verification reports will come in handy. A FirstClass email message works well as a hold-file for these variables, or you may also use a Microsoft Word document.
Set the report variables as below, and paste in the colored text into the Heading text and Roster columns fields.

If printing for all teachers, grab a cup of coffee, the report will take a while to complete. You may want to test this process using one staff member, then move on to running reports for all staff.

That's it, you can now distribute these verification reports to staff, and request them back in a day or two, signed and verified.

When we print report cards, the current data will be "pulled" directly from the PowerTeacher Gradebook, similar to the data obtained in the Grade Verification report above.
