Cold and Flu season

The coughing and sneezing have begun in earnest at Class Academy.  In order to maintain a healthy school environment, it is important to follow a few simple rules:
1.   Stay home when sick!  Please don't be a hero, you are only making everyone else sick.
2.   Wash hands often with warm soap and water. Especially before eating or drinking. Use hand sanitizer when you don't have access to soap and water.  Wash hands for at least thirty seconds, or long enough to sing the "Happy Birthday" song.
3.   Cover your cough, use tissues, and don't touch your face.
4.   Do not share water bottles with other people.
5.   Try to get rest and eat well to maintain a healthy immune system.
6.   Keep up with your vaccinations and get a flu shot if able.
7.   Remember that a fever is defined as a temperature greater than 100 degrees.  You must be fever free for 24 hours before coming back to school or work.
8.   Know the difference between cold, flu, and allergy symptoms.
9.   Try to stay positive and light hearted.
10.  Please call if you have any questions, and have a great holiday season!

To all Class Academy students and parents:

Welcome Back to school! Since school started, I have been very busy reviewing and up-dating medical records.  During the last two weeks, I handed out forms to students who have the need to take medication at school, carry an inhaler, or carry an EPI-PEN.  Please return these to me as soon as possible as I cannot administer medication without permission from a Physician and parent or guardian. My office phone number is 732-431-7245 extension 2651.  Please call if you have any questions.

Here's to a safe and healthy school year!
