High School Program Description

The HIGH SCHOOL program consists of two years and is designed and driven by the philosophy that a career and technical background provides students with an added dimension to their intellectual and emotional development, the tools necessary for self-discovery, and the skills needed for success. The curriculum will allow students to develop skills related to the services of the hair, skin, and nails. Skills are learned through theoretical instruction, demonstrations, practical work and by working with fellow learners.

This information is necessary to ensure an applicant's compliance with applicable tax laws. In addition, the Division's boards and committees are obligated to ensure that licenses and permits are not provided to non-qualified aliens because Federal law limits the issuance of professional licenses to U.S. citizens and qualified aliens. Please be aware that in order to sit for the state licensing exam all students must have a valid social security number or tax number ID number, a valid government issued photo ID and a secondary proof of identification (does not need to be a photo ID), and a high school diploma; a home educated diploma will not be recognized for licensure.
