Public Notice


In accordance with USDE Guidelines IV-O, Title VI: 34 C.F.R. & 100.6 (d) this notice shall serve to advise students, parents, employees, and the general public that all Career and Technical Education opportunities offered by the Monmouth County Vocational School District are available regardless of race, color, national origin, gender or disability.

During the academic year, the Monmouth County Vocational School District shall offer the following Career and Technical programs as described below and make online at www.mcvsd.org. The Monmouth County Vocational School District admission and criteria for selection in career and technical education programs do not restrict any race, color, sex, national minority origin or student with a disability from participation or access in the Monmouth County Vocational School District career programs.

What we Offer

The Monmouth County Vocational School District offers courses that may lead to certificates in CTE. CTE courses are offered in, but not limited to the following areas:

The Monmouth County Vocational School District programs are open to all students regardless of race, color, national origin, gender or disability. The District will take steps to assure that the lack of English-language proficiency will not be a barrier to admission and participation in CTE programs.

Mission Statement

The Monmouth County Vocational School District prepares students for an evolving workplace and further education through achievement of the New Jersey Learning Standards at all grade levels in specialized academic, career and technical programs and lifelong learning opportunities.

Adult Post Secondary

The Monmouth County Vocational School District Post Secondary programs offer adult learners the educational experience that prepares  them for the competitive demands of the workplace and individual self fulfillment.

Alternative Secondary

Monmouth County Vocational District's Alternative Secondary Programs provide an opportunity for at-risk students to be successful academically and prepared as contributing members of society through career-technical education in a non-traditional setting.

Career Academies

The Monmouth Vocational District's Career Academies prepare students for higher education through a rigorous, thematic programs of study and for the evolving workplace through relevant, structured learning experiences and collaborative partnerships.

Shared-Time Programs

The Monmouth County Vocational District in partnership with local high schools provides students with career, technical and academic education needed to develop quality occupational skills for entry-level employment and post-secondary opportunities.

Demographics

Monmouth County has a land area of 472 square miles and is located in eastern - central New Jersey. The county is comprised of 53 municipalities, each with its own unique character and identity. There is a great deal of variety in Monmouth County's municipalities, ranging form small cities to wide open agricultural areas, and virtually everything in between. Likewise, there is a variety in the landscape of the county, including the highlands and cliffs of the Bayshore area, the shoreline and riverways of the eastern part of the county, and the rolling hills of western Monmouth.

Opportunities for recreation are outstanding. The county is home to 27 miles of beaches, many parks, marinas, and golf courses. Residents can also enjoy the performing arts at a number of local theaters and colleges such as Brookdale Community College, Lincroft, and Monmouth University, West Long Branch. All these opportunities combine to give Monmouth County a high quality of life.

Monmouth County Vocational School District is comprised of 15 unique learning environments. The shared time programs located in Aberdeen, Asbury Park, Freehold, Hazlet, Keyport, Middletown, and Neptune provide students with trade filed experience. The career academies Biotechnology High Schools, Communications High School, High Technology High School, Marine Academy of Science and Technology, and the Monmouth County Academy of Allied health and Science provide students with academic and professional field experience. In addition, MCVSD manages one specialty school, Class Academy in Tinton Falls for students at risk. The Career Center located in Freehold, is a shared program, for students with Special Needs. The Academy of Law and Public Safety is Long Branch is designed to prepare high school students for careers in the field of criminal justice.
